The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has announced that it will be replacing tracks along the Queensway Right-of-Way (ROW), and as such will be cancelling streetcar service west of Sunnyside Loop (just west of the intersection of the Queensway and Roncesvalles Ave.)

During the shutdown of streetcar service, buses will operate as follows:

Bus #8092, one of several buses providing a temporary replacement of the 501 Queen along Lake Shore Blvd. W.

Bus #8092, one of several buses providing a temporary replacement of the 501 Queen along Lake Shore Blvd. W.

Eastbound buses will operate from Long Branch Loop heading east along Lake Shore Blvd. W., turning north on Park Lawn.  The buses will then turn east on the Queensway and continue east to Roncesvalles Ave. where passengers can board the 501 Queen for service east of Roncesvalles.

Westbound buses will operate in the opposite direction.

Buses in both direction will skip Humber Loop.

Regular service is scheduled to commence at 5:30 a.m. on March 30th, 2015.

On Saturday, TTC crews will take out the concrete around the affected track, and replace the affected track.  The crew will then replace the affect track.  On Sunday, the concrete will be replaced, ready for service to commence Monday morning.
